Automatic sizing and wrapping
Long captions are wrapped onto up to three lines and the font size is reduced step by step until the text fits within the width of the picture, so you never lose words off the edge. The starting size is proportional to the image height, which keeps the look consistent whether you use a small screenshot or a large photo. Use the text size option to make captions bigger or smaller overall. The outline thickness scales with the font size for a clean, classic look.
Fonts and colours
Captions use Impact, the font most associated with memes, where it is available. Some phones do not include Impact, in which case a similar bold condensed font is used. You can change the text and outline colours, for example black text with a white outline on a dark image, and switch off capital letters for a softer style. Without an image, the canvas becomes a plain coloured card, handy for quote graphics and announcements.
Image size and quality
Very large photos are scaled so the longest side is at most 1,600 pixels, which is plenty for social networks and keeps downloads quick. JPG files are saved at 90% quality, a good balance of size and sharpness. Your original photo is not changed.
